What is VFS Transmission Fee?

The VFS transmission fee is an amount of money a Visa applicant pays when they are sending their passport for stamping to a VFS centre different from where they did their biometrics.

Simply put, if you did your Visa Biometrics in Lagos, and now you’re sending your passport for stamping to the VFS office at Abuja (a different VFS centre), the transmission fee comes in.

Do you need to pay the VFS Transmission fee?

No, if you’re sending your passport to the same Visa application centre where you did your biometrics.

Use a Phone Number that works

VFS only includes your phone number as a contact to reach you. This means that the VFS courier partner will call your number when they come to delivery your decision passport. If your phone number isn’t reachable, they will return the package after three days.

One good thing to do is to reach out to the courier partners directly. Or go to their office and check your package. You also get a tracking ID to track the shipment of your passport.

However, VFS may not include this tracking ID for the courier partner. In this case, I recommend you reach out to VFS and request for your shipment tracking ID.

When contacting VFS, ensure it’s during weekdays, from 8am to 3pm. Again, they may always busy your calls, but be persistent and keep calling until you get what you want.

How to contact VFS Global in Nigeria if you need urgent response

To contact VFS Global in Nigeria to get a response within 24hrs, use the email: Canadang@vfshelpline.com.

For example, if you need to request for the tracking ID of your passport shipment via the VFS courier partner’s website, calling VFS may be frustrating as they only use one phone number to take calls, and they end up busying a lot of incoming calls, after the long automated voice intro, while your airtime is burning.
